Homebrew: Da dove viene il termine?
- L'origine della parola "homebrew", che è particolarmente nota nella scena dei giochi, proviene in realtà da una direzione completamente diversa.
- A rigor di termini, è una traduzione quasi letterale dall'inglese. Lì viene usato il termine birra autoprodotta. Naturalmente, "homebrew" non ha nulla a che fare con la birra nel contesto di gioco. Ma con giochi autoprogrammati, come spiegheremo nella prossima sezione.
Che cos'è l'homebrew?
- Per programmi "homebrew" si intendono i programmi prodotti da sviluppatori privati.
- Tuttavia, per impostazione predefinita, sulla maggior parte delle console di gioco e dei palmari, non è possibile eseguire i programmi scritti dall'utente.
- Questo perché i produttori dei dispositivi hanno paura di vendere troppo pochi dei propri giochi quando ci sono tonnellate di titoli gratuiti disponibili.
- Naturalmente, sono stati trovati alcuni modi per aggirare le misure di sicurezza ed eseguire giochi "homebrew". Ad esempio, è possibile utilizzare i programmi "homebrew" su Playstation 3, Xbox 360 e molti altri dispositivi.
