Installa Ubuntu e Windows 8 in parallelo - preparazione
Poiché la maggior parte dei computer con Windows 8 non utilizza più il BIOS ma UEFI, potrebbero esserci delle piccole complicazioni. Tuttavia, se si disattiva una funzione di Windows 8, i due sistemi dovrebbero andare d'accordo:
- Apri il Pannello di controllo e seleziona "Opzioni risparmio energia" nella categoria "Sistema e sicurezza".
- Quindi fai clic sull'opzione "Scegli cosa fare quando premi il pulsante di accensione" sulla sinistra.
- Scorri leggermente verso il basso qui e disattiva l'opzione "Attiva avvio rapido (consigliato)".
- Infine, fai clic sul pulsante "Salva modifiche". Ubuntu ora può essere installato.
- Nota: questa funzione consente a Windows di avviarsi più rapidamente allo spegnimento non salvando completamente tutte le modifiche al sistema. Il computer entra in una specie di letargo. Se questo letargo è disturbato dall'avvio di Ubuntu, il disco rigido viene scritto in modo che Windows non possa riattivare dal letargo al successivo avvio. Questo porta a complicazioni.

È importante che Windows 8 sia già installato prima di installare Ubuntu. Le complicazioni possono anche verificarsi se Ubuntu raggiunge prima il PC.
- Versione di Ubuntu: utilizzare sempre una versione corrente di Ubuntu. Utilizzare almeno la versione 13. Le versioni precedenti presentano gravi problemi con UEFI.
- Installa Ubuntu: scarica Ubuntu e lo strumento gratuito UNetbootin. Ti aiuta a trasferire Ubuntu su una chiavetta USB. Quindi riavviare il computer e avviare dalla chiavetta USB. Se il problema persiste, è necessario modificare l'ordine di avvio nell'UEFI. Nell'installazione di Ubuntu, seleziona l'opzione che Ubuntu verrà installata in parallelo con Windows 8.
- Avvia Ubuntu: ogni volta che avvii il computer ti verrà chiesto se vuoi avviare Windows 8 o Ubuntu. Se non viene effettuata alcuna selezione, viene avviato Ubuntu.
- Nota: se successivamente si verificano problemi con il processo di avvio di Windows 8 o Ubuntu, ciò è dovuto principalmente al boot manager. È possibile installare lo strumento Ubuntu Secure Remix su una chiavetta USB e quindi utilizzare la funzione "Boot Repair" in essa contenuta.
