RAM o ROM: questa è la differenza
I termini RAM o ROM vengono spesso utilizzati in relazione alla memoria. La differenza tra i due termini è enorme. Spieghiamo cosa significano le due abbreviazioni.
Spiegazione dei termini - RAM
La differenza tra i due termini è espressa in termini di tecnologia e utilizzo:
- Il nome "Random Access Memory" è nascosto dietro l'abbreviazione "RAM". Questo si basa su una tecnologia di memoria con accesso casuale alle celle di memoria (come con la ROM).
- È possibile utilizzare questa tecnologia di archiviazione per eseguire operazioni di lettura e scrittura. Questa è anche la differenza cruciale tra RAM e ROM.
- Per la maggior parte, i produttori di computer utilizzano questa tecnologia sotto forma di "DRAM" per la RAM del PC. Perché questo tipo di archiviazione è più veloce di un disco rigido.
- I condensatori vengono utilizzati come elemento di memorizzazione. Se si spegne il PC, l'alimentazione viene interrotta e i condensatori si scaricano. I dati vengono quindi persi ed è quindi memoria "volatile".
ROM: queste sono le differenze
- "ROM" sta per "Memoria di sola lettura". La memoria viene quindi scritta o programmata solo una volta inizialmente, dopodiché è possibile leggerne solo una. Anche qui hai accesso casuale alle celle di memoria.
- Ad esempio, la ROM utilizza il BIOS nel PC. Tuttavia, questa tecnologia viene sostituita dalla memoria flash riscrivibile in molte aree di applicazione.
